Documenting Seattle's Next Infrastructure Upgrade

Sexy Bus

Clearly, it's the Mercedez-Benz of buses. And, of course, they're huge in Europe. Whether they're better than the current ST and Metro buses, though, I have no idea.

To expand Frank's post a little, this is a low-floor articulated hybrid bus. The chassis and coachwork were rolled out in 1997, so presumably all the bugs have been worked out there. At the Daimler site they have more information about hybrid trucks and buses.

M-B actually does most of their business in trucks, buses, and, in their car sales, diesel sedans for use as taxis, so they're not exactly amateurs when it comes to building commercial vehicles. Anybody who has managed a wheelchair on Seattle buses will immediately see the improvement with low-floor loading.
